Time:23/08/2011 10:00

Staff from various departments within the Ministry of Home Affairs gathered yesterday to learn more about the resolution passed at the 9th Party Congress and the nation's constitution.

During the five-day workshop participants will study documents that relate to promotion of Party policy and the government's socio-economic development plan, as well as learn more about two nationally significant occasions.

Minister of Home Affairs Mr Khampane Philavong called on participants to pay close attention during the workshop to ensure that they can use what they learn to strengthen their work activities and build the capacity of the ministry.

He said the 9th Party Congress encouraged all sectors to work hard over the coming five years in order to achieve poverty alleviation gaols.

Mr Khampane noted the workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange information, knowledge and experiences so that all ministry staff can progress in their roles.

The two important dates the workshop participants will learn more about are the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the constitution (August 15, 1991- 2011) and August 23, a significant date in the revolutionary struggle.
