Lao People's Army urged to strengthen its revolutionary tradition

Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary and State President of the Lao PDR has urged all armed forces to continue to strengthen their revolutionary tradition, duties and objectives now and in the future.

Mr. Choummaly Sayasone who was invited to talk to the third Party Congress of the National Defence ministry held in Vientiane from 17-18 January also asked the new elected board of the party cell of the ministry of national defence to actively work to implement the resolution of its third party congress.

The meeting on 18 January has approved the five year plan from 2011-2015, new elected board with 21 member, elected Lieutenant-General (LG) Douangchay Phichit as secretary general and elected 49 representatives to attend the 9th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

The Lao People's Army was created from the Rasvong Company, founded by the Party.

Over the past 62nd years, the Armed Forces of the Lao People have expanded their traditions, strengthened themselves and participated in constructing the Lao PDR with peace, independence, democracy, unity and prosperity.
