Miss Vientiane's 450th anniversary contest

 The first round of Miss Vientianes 450th anniversary Contest will be held on October 30 at the National Culture Hall, according to Head of Vientiane Information and Culture Service, Ms. Vanpheng Keonakhone.
The Vientiane Information and Culture Service and the Misay Company will organise the contest as part of the celebration of Vientianes 450th anniversary as national capital. The final round of the contest is scheduled for 6 November 2010 at That Luang Esplanade.
A press conference on the contest of Miss Vientianes 450th anniversary was held on Wednesday. The event drew the participation of representatives of the Vientiane Information and Culture Service, the Phouvong Gold Shop, the Misay Company and relevant sectors.
The organising committee complemented the upcoming event with a motto Jewel of Vientiane.
The contest is to add colour to the celebration of Vientianes 450th anniversary as national capital. The Lao women who are physically beautiful, talented, and self-confident, and value the Lao cultural conservation, are welcome to the contest. said Ms Vanpheng, adding that the registration for the contest is possible between September 17 and October 17.
Contesters aged between 16 and 25 years, single, with at least secondary education are encouraged to participate in the contest, Ms Vanpheng.
The winner of the contest is entitled to a diamond crown, 15 million kip in cash, and a gift set.
